Dochfour to do list for 2010?
Can we do this list at the start of May
- or is there toooo much?
- Deflector board at the road - Willie will get some board and
pins. The plan was a 20mm high board - set into the road and
deflecting the water down to the RHS of the gate. Pins (metal or
wood) to hold board. We need pick, shovel, wood, pins etc etc
- Dig holes for strainers around rear of range. Dont
finish heeling the posts in as we need to get a digger to make us a
working area behind the range. I have 6 strainers ordered.
- New holding wire at the 100s to stop the targets
flapping. I have left wire at the range. No cutters.
- Rig up something to allow us to put up backercards on the
50's I would like to tidy up the stuff on the 100's too.
- Look at the point of impact for bench/standing. Maria
has pointed out that the we may not be able to do 2P at Dochfour - the
MPOI may end up in the foot area and not in the sand catchers. So
we may need to dig more of a pit than a raised point.
- We need a device at the front of the range to catch
brass. Duncan Hammel will try to get some tarps, canvas etc to
make catchers. Plan was to run a wire over the front of the range
to make a "trap" to catch the brass.
- Cut back some of the gorse on the way to the flags?
- The concrete slabs on the FP are very mobile. Alistair
Colliar has dropped off breeze blocks we should rebuild the RHS anyway.
- Flags. We need to assemble more flags - Micheil has
made the flags but we have to get them on the hangers. We also
need to drive some metal tube into the range and put a big dod of
cement around them to prevent the animals damaging themselves if the
step/fall/lay on them. Since we are putting a big dod of concrete
in the safety area we MAY need to put some wood facing the FPs to avoid
richochet?
- If there are kids about the target boards could be sanded
and painted.
- If there is a climber about we could put some tar/sealant
around the holes in the roof where the bolts come in.
- We need another block on the gate out to 100's so that the
latch can engage and save all this hassle with rope.
- What else needs done?
Bring gardening gloves and and sensible small tools - wire cutters,
hammers, screws, scredrivers (electric?) nails, wood wood and more
wood,
strainers
and a flask of coffee?
BBQ afterwards for those that want.
