| Background Some people dont shoot well under pressure, and/or when things outwith their control are changed. This exercise is designed to simulate the shots in an ISSF final and to put a wee bit of competition into each shot. You need to be able to scope a shot and call it as a number. We use outdoor scoring as a way to get that number.

| Technique Choose a partner, shoot side-by-side on your own cards. Get permission - make sure than people on the same detail are comfortable with you making a noise and calling your shots. Sight in, and when you are ready announce it to your partner. Then shoot each shot in turn. After the first person has shot - and before the next person shoots - they call our their score. The second shooter takes their shot and likewise calls the score. The person with the highest score wins the point for that target and shoots first on the next target. The winner is the one with the most points - not the one with the overall best card. If it catches on there is no reason why you can't run a wee shooting ladder where you can challenge anyone up to 2 places above you in the table. |
