| Range | Notes |
| denwood aberdeen | Take the A96 to Aberdeen past Bucksburn then take a 3/4
(right) at a roudabout onto the A90 (AKA North Anderson Drive -
signposted towards a hospital). Drive about 3 miles along this
A90 until you come to traffic lights where your turn RIGHT onto the A93
(AKA Great Western Road). About 200 yards turn RIGHT onto
Countesswells road - The Junction is a funny Y type junction.
Follow Countesswells Road as it meanders through suburbs etc. Its
about 3 miles on your right to the range. You will pass a garden
centre first. The range is close to high voltage pylons. Watch
out when Aberdonians say "just opposite". |
| Elgin Indoor | Drive from Inverness to Elgin. Watch out for the
Pinefield Industrial Estate on the far side of Elgin. Hang a
right to get into the estate then take first right again. The
building you want is about 200 yards on the LEFT and has a "MORAY
ARCHERS" sign on it - it says nothing about rifles. |
| Gagie | Head towards Dundee from Perth. Go along the Kingsway
(A90) which is the North City bypass. Stay on this bypass until
you get to a roundabout marked A92 Abroath. About a mile along
this road there is a set of double traffic lights, Hang a LEFT and turn
LEFT heading to Kellas/Wellbank (you pass ASDA on the RIGHT). About x
mile up the road it turns a 90 left at which point you turn to the
RIGHT up Kellas Road. Follow this road for about 2.5 miles.
The range is on the RIGHT. There is a vehicle breaker/scrap yard
sort of place. DONT PARK IN FRONT OF THE GATES. |
| Bisley | Take a plane to London, then drive to Bisley. It is
signposted National Shooting Centre when you are about 2 miles away. |
| Wick | Coming from Inverness turn off left down the A882 at traffic
lights "in wick" (if you get to Mackays Hotel you have gone too far).
There is a Caravan park on right, turn in, do gown road about 400 yards
and range is under a railway bridge (perhaps disused railway) |
| Perth |
Turn in Rae Place and "dead end" take to a wide footpath on
RHS, Bear left at junction, over a metal bridge and you are
there. 2 hours from Inverness at a quiet time in the morning. |
| Dulnain
Bridge |
Just before or just after the
church - depending on which way you come from! Building is on the main road. |
| Cawdor
Range Banff to be inserted |
Go along the Cawdor Road,
(arriving on the
B9090)once
at Cawdor turn south opposite war memorial. Head up the hill
about a
mile to cross roads and turn right (west) head along this road
and pass the turn off marked Dulsie Bridge,
the range is a further 250 yards approx in the woods to your left.
You'll see a white barrier and flag pole displaying red flag when in
operation. If you have an Ordnance
Survey map the grid reference is NH 858
474. The rifle range is marked on the map.

| Wigan
Range (25/50m indoor!) |
Come off at Junction 26 and turn right at the T
junction into Wigan. Follow the road for about 1.5 miles, it is a straight run - part of it is 1 way and you will pass a pub "the halfway" or suchlike as the road splits into the 1 way system. Just press on. Watch for Aldi appearing on th left. Shortly after you will reach a BIG roundabout. A firestation on the L, ASDA on the roundabout on the left. Hell there are even shops in the middle of the roundabout. Anyway you need kind of "straight on". Not sure what lane is best. The "straight on" takes you under a railway bridge - 2 lanes turn into 1 and this is England, so take care. 200 yards further on you drive over a bridge and shortly thereafter is a kind of filter lane on right. This is a LONG filter line. Get in that lane and you do a 180 - going back where you came from. Take a right about 200 yards on the right, follow that road around and you will pass the club. The address of the club is Wigan Target Sports Club, Park Street, Poolstock, Wigan WN3 5HE telephone 01942 826336. And there is a premier travel inn at Standish nr. Wigan or there is the Quality Hotel in Wigan. The Britania at junction 27 "Standish" was MUCH cheaper than the Holday Inn/Premier Inn over the road. But food is cheaper at the place over the road |
| Balerno
and Currie |
Cant remember - but watch this space It is actually the silver roofed building to the north of the marker but if you are that close you have a possible |
