Vision Statement

Many rifle clubs around Scotland have been shutdown in the last few years and we were slightly worried that we may have followed suit.  We have great news in that the Highland Council have said that they will renew our lease for a 20 year period.

Given that we have this continuity to the club, the committee will be looking at what the members want us to do for the future growth and stability of the club - if anything.

As part of the process of club development we have a number of questions we would like to ask that might help us shape the future of the club.  As Aleks kept saying "this is your club not mine, so tell us what you think".  It would be nice to get a vision of where members wish to go.

This is bound to be the first of many such questionnaires.....  We really would appreciate your time to complete what you can.  You can do so anonymously or you can tell us who you are.

Club facilities
  1. Do you have any comments/thoughts for improvements on the club room?
  2. Do you have any comments/thoughts for improvements to the outdoor range?
  3. Should the club be open more nights in a week?  If so which ones and when?  Would you be prepared to become an RCO to allow this to happen ?
  4. Is there a particular age/gender group that we are not catering for?
  5. Do you think we should be developing other shooting disciplines - air-rifle/pistol, 3P, UK-Bench-rest, any-sights, shotgun (dochfour), Field-target (dochfour)?
Money
  1. Thinking about the ongoing club charge would you rate the membership fees as low .................................  high
  2. Should we charge a daily attendance fee at the club?  yes  ..  no.    If yes what sort of daily rate would be reasonable?
  3. If equipment - such as modern rifles or training equipment was available would you pay to rent it?
If so, how would you fund the shared use of (say) a £1500 rifle?
Equipment
  1. Can we ask for your opinion on the club equipment.  Rate from 1 poor to 10 pefect:
  1. Would you use training equipment e.g. SCATT or NOPTEL if this was available?  Would you pay the equivalent costs to the costs of ammo that you would otherwise have shot?  Would you pay more?  (NOPTEL+KIT is about £2.5K)
Training/Coaching
  1. Is the level of training/coaching that the club provides   too little .................... too much
  2. Would you pay to get a professional coach?  If so what sort of weekly rate?
Children/Vunerable People

At present we require Parents/Guardians of children (thats under 18s - even in Scotland) to be present.  While it keeps the club members protected it is onerous on parents.  Have you any suggestions as to how we might make it easier all round for under 18s to be present?

Objectives
  1. Why are you a member of the club?  social  ..  recreational ..  competition .. other
  2. Have you a goal in your shooting?  If so what can we do to help you reach it?
What other issues do you see as needing addressed?
